Michigan State University will host the 2006 TICFIA Grantee Conference. The purpose of this annual meeting is to bring together representatives from ten currently funded TICFIA projects. Attendees will make presentations on individual projects and will strategize ways of linking TICFIA projects with the goal of ensuring mutual support and enhancing future collaboration.
The 2006 TICFIA Conference starts at 9:00am on Thursday, April 20, and concludes at 5pm on Friday, April 21, 2006. A reception is scheduled for Wednesday evening April 19 at 5:30 pm.
Technological Innovation and Cooperation for Foreign Information Access
The purpose of Technological Innovation and Cooperation for Foreign Information Access (TICFIA) Program is to support projects that will develop innovative techniques or programs using new electronic technologies to collect information from foreign sources.
This program provides grants to institutions of higher education, public or nonprofit libraries or combinations of these institutions or libraries to develop innovative techniques or programs using new electronic technologies to access, collect, organize, preserve and widely disseminate information on world regions and countries other than the US that address our Nation's teaching and research needs in international education and foreign languages.
